6 Inspiring Quotes and Stories on Attitude

I’ve been thinking about my attitude lately and discovering that I need to work on it a little bit. At times, I find that my attitude isn’t where it needs to be in my ministry. I sometimes find myself a little sarcastic, bitter, and even a bit un-hopeful and un-optimistic.

I go through seasons like this from time to time. I may be in that season now.

To try to inspire myself, I delved into some fun attitude quotes and stories. Here are some of my favorites that I encountered.

“A boy got in trouble by his mom one day. ‘Sit in that chair until the timer goes off,’ the mother said in frustration. The boy sat down, fearing greater punishment, but said, ‘Okay, Mommy. I’m sitting on the outside, but I’m standing up on the inside.’”

“A person with an extra-mile attitude is someone who

  • Care more than others think is wise.
  • Risks more that others think is safe.
  • Dreams more than others think is practical.
  • Expects more than others think is possible.
  • Works more than others think is necessary.”

From There’s No Such Thing As Business Ethics

“Two natures beat within my breast,

The one is foul, the other blessed.

The one I love, the other I hate;

The one I feed will dominate.”

“Positive thinking is how you think about a problem. Enthusiasm is how you feel about a problem. The two together determine what you do about a problem.” –Norman Vincent Peale

“The man how complains about the way the ball bounces is likely the one who dropped it.” –Lou Holtz

I’m never down. I’m either up or getting up.
