Unless we are willing to engage in conversation rather than just instruction, we might never accomplish our goal towards offering a vision towards salvation and hope. Conversation allows the other to place their own meaning upon the truth rather then just mark themselves as present physically but not mentally or spiritually (have you met a bored eighth grader recently) in another time-killer.
The General Directory for Catechesis #62 states: Only by starting with conversion, and therefore by making allowance for the interior disposition of ‘whoever believes,’ can catechesis, strictly speaking, fulfill its proper task of education in the faith.
