There is a call for chronological order… which is not always as easy as it sounds, especially if the story happened to you. We often tell stories not in the order of time but in the order of personal impact to us – which can sometimes make it confusing,
And, then, Parker and Stone are encouraging telling the story related to causality. “And then” is chronological, but the “therefore” or the “but” mix in the emotional impact / motivation of the story.
… therefore, this is a good devise for structuring a story, but, Oh my gawd, they killed Kenny!
