As we wrap up our ninth year of blogging, we are offering a retrospective of the best 20 things that I have most treasured about the blog.
The Sacraments: The Relationship Re-explained was the 12th most popular posting of all time according to my site meter… but it was also a good example of the stuff I appreciated about the blog.
First, it re-purposed (which sounds so much better than lifted or stole) another blog’s material and made it available to you.
Second, it put quality materials into your hands to re-purpose yourselves. Seriously, I can imagine this being quality homework or make-up assignments.
Finally, it features the work of the many virtual blogging friends that I have made over the years. (Fr. Austin is local so he is a real friend as well. ) Fr. Austin has served as the chaplain to this blog and has appeared many times over the year.
I invite you to check out this set of posts which were based off a parish mission themed “Focusing on the Relationship: Our Life in Christ through the Sacraments.”
D. Scott Miller
D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)
Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.
He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
