Bob9: Podcasts

9As we wrap up our ninth year of blogging, we are offering a retrospective of the best 20 things that I have most treasured about the blog. Here is #9

I experimented with podcasting for about a year a few years back – grabbing a few folks at a conference or spending a morning making and taping a few phone calls.

Lee Nagel is Inside the Youth Ministers’ Studio was 9th overall all-time according toe the site meter and was soon followed by Dobie Moser, Mike Carotta, and Mark Hart, and then many many others. On my 50th birthday, Mike Patin (who was another guest in the studio) graciously agreed to interview me!

Sadly. over time and a couple virus attacks a few years ago, the podcasts have been lost into the ether of the internet.

Five years later, I find that there are many more podcasts out there and I listen to a few when walking for exercising or taking long rides to meeting. Meanwhile, you should check out the Best Youth Ministry Podcast Ever…Maybe, Tom Lelyo’s Catholic Youth Ministry Podcast, the UK’s Catholic Youth Ministry Podcast YouCast

Nonetheless, I take pride in being an early adapter on this.

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
