CYM News 04-16-12

I’m gonna try as start to shorten up the ‘Round Here reports.  Life gets busy, but some of these reports have gotton a little overwhelming.

News from ‘All Around:

ROME, ITA — Around Palm Sunday (which is where we also celebrate World Youth Day) there was an international meeting regarding World Youth Day.  This report came out of it and features Sr. Eileen McCann of the USCCB.

News from ‘Round Here:

Monday was travel home day from Easter vacation, but it did offer me the opportunity of having two meals with youngest daughter Meghan, making it an the AWE (Amazing Weekly Experience) event.

Tuesday was back to work with some serious curriculum development that carried over into Wednesday… Worked on procuring the Pilgrimage 2013 presenter as well.  It was easier to focus in on my tasks as most of the office staff was out.

Thursday was an e-team meeting and I began doing some more working on hatching WYD ‘13 domestic plans. Friday continued on some curriculum development and developing some other  project management devises.

Leaving work early for the weekend, I donated some books from an earlier spring clean project, and then picked up some mis-delivered boxes for a training for next week.  Then, I was off with my personal interior designer to work on some framing of pictures for the dining room.

Saturday was dedicated to some necessary care repair and cleaning. The evening involved watching The Hunger Games.  Sunday was busy with a boy scout mass, a viewing for a priest’s father, and another mass with a friend  – – with some desk time snuck in-between.

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
