News from ‘Round Here: Last Sunday started with an early morning office run and a shopping trip. The Next Horizons planning overnight started with mass at St. William of York and there was stuff to do! We reviewed some survey results and heard from Fr. John Hurley and then we were off on planning. Very productive and good overnight. Monday afternoon I went into the office regarding a consultation of parish planning that concluded with the Archbishop on Wednesday. Tuesday involved an interdepartmental meeting on school, always discover something new when I sit in on these and a core committee phone call for the Mid-Atlantic Congress (great slates for youth ministry and young adult ministry are lining up!). Wednesday also involved a run up to O’Dwyer Youth Retreat House. Thursday involved a radio interview, an E-team meeting where I led prayer with a movie clip and we refined the agenda for the Together in Mission; there was a logistics phone call for MAC; I dropped-in at a workcamp visiting the area, and sat in with a CYO soccer meeting. Whew! Friday was all day travelling to the NCYC animator camp (Picture to left) We had mechanical problems which considerably stretched out the day and merited this status update. Saturday found me still at camp. Bishop Coyne dropped in and previewed his (impressive) November homily and we celebrated mass later that night. Thanks to hosts Kay Scoville and Mark Erdosy and the NCYC program team for a great weekend. |
