News from Around:
For one last look, we go back to World Youth Day.

News from ‘Round Here:

We’ve already recapped elsewhere on the blog how we spend our Sunday and Monday in Madrid. Tuesday was a day of commute back- long flights and, yes, we missed the local earthquake.

Wednesday was a day to catch back up with staff in the office and begin to address many details left on the desk before our pilgrimage.  The morning started early with an interview of Relevant Radio doing a WYD debrief. Thursday was spent publicizing our Contact meeting, stirring enthusiasm for NCYC, and getting out a newsletter.  Ravens football with the daughters occupied the evening.

Friday off involved some early morning blogging and a hunkering down for the weekend visit of Hurricane Irene. And, then, the WYD hangover finally hit. so there was napping and sleeping with made an afternoon conference call confounding.

Saturday was all about watching the hurricane a’coming while still in WYD recovery mode.

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
