Easter Fourth

good_shepherd A prayer for the Fourth Sunday of Easter:

Lord, there is nothing else that we really want than for You to be our Shepherd.  Actually, that thought sorta scares the hell out of all of us.

We say …that we want you to guides us in right paths …that we recognize your voice and that we will follow you and not some thief or robber who snuck into our pasture  …that we are ready for the courage of acknowledging your rod and your staff to have ourselves saved from this corrupt generation. Yea, yea, we say all that.

If we were to acknowledge our Shepherd as our Lord and Christ, as Jesus who was crucified, well, then, every one of us would repent and be baptized, seeking forgiveness of our sins. In the path of the Shepherd, only goodness and kindness follow us all the days of our lives. With you, Lord, as shepherd and guardian of our souls, we might have life and have it more abundantly. <image source>

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
