Flight

flight-upsideFor the past week, I’ve been suffering with a case of bronchitis.  It was ok during the hunkering down during Superstorm Sandy but my health Wednesday combined with a flat tire totally wiped me out.  An evening run for early voting was my last step outside for 84 hours.  Some lovely codeine-laced cough suppressant caused great inability to maintain coherent thought let alone conscious wakefulness.

My well earned 12 weeks worth of sick days has finally been dinged.  I’m a little more humbled on my health as well as work schedule. I would take the last few days as a blessing and a lesson- – if I could muster the effort of introspection.

I have yet to see the Denzel Washington movie, but I feel that this past week leads into much more from me than just initial awkward landing.

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
