Florida

fl One of my favorite states, home for my mother and youngest daughter, we have logged significant time on Interstate 4 between the ladies  visiting the Sunshine State and have previously virtually visited in 2010 and 2009.

+ The Archdiocese of Miami continues to no longer have a central Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry.
+ According to the calendar, there was an NCCYM Volunteer Information meeting earlier in May in anticipation of Orlando hosting the 2012 National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry at the end of November.
+ The Child and Youth Protection on-line training for Pensacola-Tallahassee comes from Shield the Vulnerable, first that I’ve heard of them.
+ Saint Augustine’s site has a video  from their trip to the 2012 March for Life… wow… that’s a long trip
+ My youngest daughter, Meghan, should pay attention to St. Petersburg as they are sponsoring a Family Day with the Rays on June 3.  (Megs: The are playing the  Baltimore Orioles! Wear your new Nick Markakis shirt.  Go, O’s)

Floridians, drop a comment and sand your love.  After all, we are a Mickey Mouse operation, too!

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
