Didcha’ ever see those Cheez-it commercials where they patiently wait until a cheese properly matures? The fact that anyone enjoys them are an indication of the thriving appeal of middle school humor, which has abounded with our previous monthly contests… Scott and a Bowling Pin, A Royal Pout, Lord of the Dance, The Dancing Nun, Cowboy Scott, and UpsideDown Hanging Around.
So, it is with great trepidation that we open up July’s CaptionThis contest with this picture. And, yes, I have twice appeared in CaptionThis pictures, but, no, that is not the case this time around.
If’n you could write a caption for this picture…. What would it be? Comment below.
<update> Semi-Finalists:
Dave Riel: Ya ya, saving the environment… I still think we should switch to disposables… or at least buy a few extra cloth ones!
Katie Zeigler: I’m hunting sock monsters!
Mary H: So this is where they keep the Dryer Lint…
And the winner is Sharon Bogusz who channeled the spirit of Lady Gaga with her caption: I was born this way! Congratulations, Sharon! Your “CYM no prize” is on its way. See you all next month! <iimage source>
D. Scott Miller
D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)
Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.
He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.

My blankie…I’ve got to get my blankie! I know it’s in here somewhere!
Ya ya, saving the environment… I still think we should switch to disposables… or at least buy a few extra cloth ones!
Stupid, stupid, stupid – why would she put ALL of my underwear in the wash at the same time?!?
I could have SWORN I left the cat in here!
Ok we know its not Scott, I don’t think it’s Jesse Manibussan, he’d be more tan, the little legs make me think it’s Bob McCarty, but the young look makes me think its Kyle from Popple.
Wash and wear…and wrinkle free too? These birthday suits are great!
So this is where they keep the Dryer Lint…
“I was born this way!”
Sure enough, just as Mom predicted, Shane’s dirty Little League uniform grew legs and started to walk away.
I’m hunting sock monsters!
