Lent First

hawaiian-rainbow Our prayer for this day, the First Sunday of Lent

Your ways, O Lord… You suffered for sins once, your righteous offered for the sake of the unrighteous. This was part of the continuous sign that You have given of your love for all ages to come, of Your covenant between You and Your creation.

Your ways, O Lord, are love and truth… You remember Your compassion and Your love from the beginning of all time. You have set your bow, sent your Son, and empowered us with Your Spirit.  You recall the covenant made with your creation, with all living beings/  We remember Your kindness and Your goodness, Help us to remember that qualities in ourselves who are image and likeness of You.

Your ways, O Lord, are love and truth to those who keep your covenant…. The Reign of God is at hand. This is the time of fulfillment. May we truly believe in the gospel and repent our lives accordingly.

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
