Mary, the Mother of God

MaryMotherWith the new year, we are starting something new.  On Sundays and other days that are holy, we will be offering images based on the Lectionary. It is hoped that you might lift these and use them on facebook or twitter as a way tp share (and encourage others to share – creating a meme) the Good News… virtually

This is a response to Pope Benedict’s  invitstion to young people to introduce into the culture of this new environment of communications and information technology the values on which you have built your lives. […] It falls, in particular, to young people, who have an almost spontaneous affinity for the new means of communication, to take on the responsibility for the evangelization of this ‘digital continent’

.So, here iis the first in a series… with each icon pulling a quote and an image from the Readings of the day.  Each will posted slightly after the turn of midnight local time.

Please feel free to share this image via social networking…

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
