Planning Ahead We are writing this newsletter on Tuesday because we will be at MAC all day when this newsletter goes out. There were mixed reports regarding the weather as this was being written. We are all still awaiting the conclave. There is a lot happening this week, so we will be even briefer than usual.Even in busy and uncertain times, we invite you to keep planning ahead regarding:
> We are still accepting group registrations for the March 23 Archdiocesan Youth and Young Adult Pilgrimage.
> Summer is coming. Don’t forget to begin to determine who from your parish or school would benefit from our JAW social justice week or our High School Leadership Institute
> We have been getting questions regarding the National Catholic Youth Conference. Here is what we know so far…. We tried diligently to get a downtown hotel again, but the conference organizers do assign the hotels and we were placed this time near the airport, about a 20 minute commute out. We are finalizing our bus plans but are announcing that our tentative price for the whole conference package seems to be for $560 – which is $20 less than 2011 in Indianapolis and $335 than flying to Kansas City in 2009. We are aware that these are still challenging times for families and are doing our best to keep costs down. As soon as we finalize one more detail regarding our busing situation, we will release the full registration package to you.
We will repeat the last conference’s plan of local bus pick-up in various regions with a meeting spot for Mass together in the evening of Wednesday, November 20. As the conference concludes on Saturday evening, we will bus again on the overnight to return Sunday morning, November 24.
OnLine training: On March 14th, at 1pm (and repeated at 8pm local times) there will be the fourth edition of the rebuildmychurch.Online conference featuring Katie Cornell, Mike Sylvester, Eric Groth, Anita Parker, Edmund Mitchell, and John Saddington. Fregistration is free and your commute to the conference involves your computer!
Hyperlinks to Use: Just in case this does prove to be a snow-day for you, here is access to copies of the book distributed at the John Bosco Day. Consider giving it a read and respond back… Is this where we need to be going regarding youth ministry?
No matter what comes our way this day and all our days, know that we are always planning out how we might serve the Lord, our Church, and you.
