ANNUAL RECOGNITION CELEBRATION > Please join us at St. Agnes Church at 7pm on May 2 for our annual Mass and celebration. This year, we will be forgoing the post-Mass reception and offering the awards during a brief post-liturgy celebration. Among this year’s honorees are Eagle of the Cross recipients, Volunteers of the Year, Medal of Honor recipients Becky Clark, Dr. Kristin Witte and Sr. Angela DeFontes as well as For God and Youth Award recipients, Phyllis & Michael Middleton, George & Dorene Rothmann and Amy Stuempfle. (Christopher Wesley will be recognized at the Church of the Nativity tonight and Fernando Cartagena will be recognized later in May.)
> We will still accept Eagle of the Cross nominations until May 1.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION >>Registration has already opened for both High-LIand JAW, our summer programs. High LI, due to pre-session interviews and orientation, has a deadline of May 6. We are already receiving forms and encourage you to get yours in. >> Registration information regarding our domestic celebration of World Youth Dayat Mount Saint Mary is now available. Many regions are already planning their local catechetical sessions in advance of WYD – not just for their young people but for all generations. Begin planning now!!
>>The National Catholic Youth Conference registrationis now available. Please review all the information regarding our travels to Indianapolis. Deadlines for both scholarships as well as animators (Let’s share our ArchBalt talents on the main stage) are soon approaching. The delegation meeting has been scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday, November 3.

Flyer >>> Please reserve Wednesday, October 2 for Archbishop Lori’s Convocation with Lay Ecclesial Ministers. >>> We are anticipating that youth ministry students from the Franciscan University in Steubenville will be visiting the ArchBalt October 19-21. >>> In the New Year, we have the March for Life on January 22 (Watch for reserving tickets in September!) and our third annual Bosco Day which will be on January 30 (The actual feast day is the 31st, but it is a Friday.) The Mid-Atlantic Congress will be February 27 – March 1 and the Pilgrimage will be on April 12.

AT O’DWYER > The Archdiocese of Baltimore has recently partnered with First Fruits Farms, a nearby volunteer, non-profit ministry dedicated to planting, harvesting, and distributing fruits and vegetables to soup kitchens and food banks in the Baltimore/Washington region. Starting this spring, First Fruits will also be working 25 acres of land owned by the Archdiocese which is directly across the street from the Retreat House. From June to October, groups visiting the House have the opportunity to work a 3 hour shift with First Fruits here by the House. SAFETY IN OUR MINISTRY Tom Alban, Risk Manager for the Archdiocese, will present at St. Michael in Mount Airy Wednesday May 15, 2013 from 10am – 2pm. FORTNIGHT FOR FREEDOM We are in process of again preparing materials for home use during this two week celebration of our religious freedoms. The Fortnight will again start with an opening mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary on June 21 at 7pm.
