Pilgrimage 2011

Matt Palmer from the Catholic Review posted up the video from our pilgrimage Saturday and also has posted the story on-line.

On Thursday, the pilgrimage committee as part of their packing day laid a small bouquet of flowers at the statue of John Paul II inside the Basilica of the Assumption. We prayed for the intercessions of the Blessed Mother and the late Holy Father for the Pilgrimage.  We did not get the experience or which we planned for or wanted, but we did get one that we may have needed.

Discipleship is rarely easy but it was great to be reminded that youth and young adults are up to the challenge.

What we learned is that there is no storm – weather, personal crisis, or whatever – that the young church, with the assistance of our Lord cannot overcome.

I was on Relevant Radio this morning talking about the experience and will post up links as they become available.

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
