Eric Gallagher has over 8 years of experience in full-time youth ministry in the Diocese of Sioux Falls where he currently serves as the Director of Youth Ministry for the Diocese. He also blogs regularly at Catholic Youth Ministry Hub and Catholic Tech Talk.

Here, Eric discusses a makeover (re:Build?) process for youth ministry.

On a scale of 1-10 how much does your ministry need a makeover? Which of the 6 steps seems the most intimidating to you? What is one of the best training tools you use in your parish/ministry? What are your ministry’s strengths and gifts? What opportunities are you creating for discipleship? Do you feel “youth group” settings provide good opportunities for discipleship? What opportunities do you have for evangelization? Do you allow autonomy in small groups? How is your ministry helping “feed the world”? Are they ready?

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
