The Son Rises

I’m back….  Actually almost.  I’m typing this in from the Tampa airport.

Photo0046 I had a very relaxing, rejuvenating Easter break.  I spent each day walking a mile or more along the beach with the sun rising over the horizon.  Each morning was simple and quiet and majestic all at the same time… kinda how I imagine the early revelations of the Lord’s resurrection.

I saw my Tampa-based youngest daughter as bookends to the trip, stayed with my Daytona Beach mom – barely losing to her in our usual blood-match of 500 Rummy – walked beaches and read books.

The books were birthday gifts at the end of January so it is an indication of winter’s busy-ness that I have finally got to them. Same Kind of Different As Me was a difficult read for me, probably because I saw to much of myself in one of the male protagonists.

I am now 2/3 of the way through Steve Jobs, and am enough of a tech geek to be thrilled at the creativity and yet am horrified at the allowances made for genius-types to be difficult or adversarial.

Easter finds me relishing in the promise of hope and new Life and I hope it finds you in the same spirit.

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
