The Sophomore Year

joe I often listen to sports radio while in the car. Recently, there was a debate regarding if Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco was living up to expectations. Since the guy stepped into the starting role in his rookie season, he has lead the team into the payoffs each of his four seasons, his last year finding himself one stripped pass away from the Super Bowl.

An analyst suggested that you can tell the mark of an NFL quarterback after his “senior year,” after four years what sort of the consistency, pattern of growth, and learning curve was he facing.

I shared this with our office staff recently.  With many changes and turnovers in the past years, our present configuration is just coming towards the end of our sophomore season. We’ve had some positive successes, made some errors and attempted to learn from them, and feel as if we are very much just hitting our stride.

Basically, we are learning patience, as we are keenly aware that God ain’t done with us yet!
