To Keep Or Not To Keep

A.M.D.G.

In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love.
– Blessed Mother Teresa

To keep or not to keep? That is the question for today. To begin, watch this. I think it is pretty great, and so do 40 million other people. I know this is an old video … but someone shared it again today which made me think of something. Also, feel free to dance while you watch.
You have to admit this is a great video (even if I’d title it slightly differently). One person, dancing, brings thousands together in joy. Dancing on your own is fun, but dancing across the world with thousands is awesome.Christ – one man, ok not just any person, brought BILLIONS together and can bring billions more. Do we recognize our potential as created by God to do great things with simple actions in the context of community & joy?Do christians see the great opportunity we have to evangelize through simple love (be it words or actions). What great joy one experiences with life in Christ. Don’t keep it to yourself.  But don’t overcomplicate being a christian either.

So often in meetings, committees, vision statements, organizational charts we complicate a simple life. That we are created by a God who is love. That our mission in life is to love and be loved. It begins right now, in the moment, with those God has placed before us. And all it requires is our permission, a little effort and a joyful heart.

What’s one action you can do right now to bring joy to the world around you? Do it.

So to keep or not to keep? The answer is both.

Keep it simple. But don’t keep it – share it.

Peace
