Twenty-Fifth

Our prayer on this Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time which is also celebrated as Catechetical Sunday:

Dear Lord, our instructions are simple. Get ourselves out there in your vineyards. We are to conduct ourselves in a way worthy of the gospel of Christ. You are near to all who call upon You, to all who call upon You in truth.

We seek that You will be magnified within us. We seek that Your ways become our ways, that Your thoughts become our thoughts. We seek that our life is within Christ and that fruitful labor will be provided for us and that our recompense, what You will give us, will be just.

Be with us in our interactions with young people.  Send your Spirit to help us encourage and empower catechists, confirmation sponsors, and, most importantly, parents in their ministry with young people. Help us to help them call upon You in truth.

Lord, we believe You to be the Lord and that You are good to all.

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
