Two Minutes 03-14-13

header 2May the Peace of Christ be with you. Please take just two minutes to review the following:

Habemus Papam! We live in historic times. In our prayers – both personal as well as with young people – please pray for our Holy Father Francis as well as for Benedict XVI, our Pope Emeritus.
There will be a celebration Mass with Archbishop Lori this Sunday at the Cathedral of Mary our Queen at 11am. Consider inviting young people and families to attend.

Pilgrimage The ten-day forecast (yes, we do watch that as seriously as the conclave chimney pipe!) for the Archbishop’s Youth and Young Adult Pilgrimage is calling for a minimal chance of precipitation and temperatures in the 60’s. Looking forward to walking with you and the youngchurch the weekend after this one!

ReBuid My Church The on-line youth ministry conference runs live both today (Thursday) at 1:30 and tonight at 8:30. Best news of all is it costs you nothing and there is no commute.

Mid-Atlantic Thanks The Catholic Review offered a recap of last weekend’s conference. Thanks and many blessings to the youth and campus ministry folks who vitally played a role with the making the conference happen.

Hyperlinks to Use: Lots of folks are quickly doing research on our new pope, trying to understand his background more and how that might impact our future… Here’s one take on all that.

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
