ANNUAL RECOGNITION CELEBRATION
> Please join us at St. Agnes Church at 7pm on May 2 for our annual Mass and celebration. This year, we will be forgoing the post-Mass reception and offering the awards during a brief post-liturgy celebration.
> We will still accept Eagle of the Cross nominations until May 1.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
>> Registration has already opened for both High-LI and JAW, our summer programs. We are already receiving forms and encourage you to get yours in.
>> Registration information regarding our domestic celebration of World Youth Day at Mount Saint Mary is now available.
>> The National Catholic Youth Conference registration is now available. Please review all the information regarding our travels to Indianapolis. Deadlines for both scholarships as well as animators (Let’s share our ArchBalt talents on the main stage) are soon approaching.

CATHOLIC SCOUTING
> The Annual Scouting Retreat will be May 3- 5 at Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation – Camp Spencer.
> Catholic Scouting Retreat for Religious Emblem Counselors and Scout Leaders will be held on June 15 at St. Mary Spiritual Center on Paca Street in Baltimore. See the General Information, the Registration Form , and the Lunch Order Form.

NAVY SEAL CHALLENGE DAY
Encourage your young people to participate in this fitness day on May 4 at Loyola University Fitness and Aquatic Center. – LetterFlyer

SAFETY IN OUR MINISTRY
Tom Alban, Risk Manager for the Archdiocese, will present at St. Michael in Mount Airy from 10am – 2pm. This event, which includes lunch is free to all BACM members and requires a $5 fee for non-members. Please contact [email protected] by May 1 to reserve your space

FORTNIGHT FOR FREEDOM
We are in process of again preparing materials for home use during this two week celebration of our religious freedoms. The Fortnight will again start with an opening mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary on June 21 at 7pm.

We continue to hold all the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombingin our prayers.

D. Scott Miller

D. Scott Miller is the dean of Catholic Youth Ministry bloggers which is a polite way of either saying that he is just plain old or has been blogging for a long time (since 2004.)

Scott recently married the lovely Anne and together they have five adult young people and also grandparent three delightful kids (so, maybe he is just plain old!) Scott presently serves at Saint John the Evangelist in Columbia, MD as the director of youth and young adult ministry.

He has previously served on the parish, regional, diocesan, and national levels as well as having taught within a catholic high school. He is one of the founders of RebuildMyChurch and has returned to posting regularly (keeping regular is important to old guys) at ProjectYM.
