First Place!
As someone who has lived in this area for a long time and remembers the winning ways of the ‘96 and ‘97 O’s, these are exciting times. For one night this week, the O’s were in first place (Yes, the Nationals have there all week, but…)
Tonight, before the team plays those Yankees and fight back into first place, Cal Ripken will be recognized with his own bronze statue as part of the Orioles Legends Celebration Series. I was blessed to be in Camden Yards se3venten years ago tonight as “the Ironman” broke the record by playing in 2,131 consecutive games. What an awesome night!
No matter regarding wins or losses, there is something worth celebrating regarding the consistency and drive over the long haul. No matter the little wins or small defeats that you will face this day, take a moment and consider the long haul. What will it take for you to become a youth ministry Ironman… or Ironwoman? If you can answer that question, can first place be far behind?
