Our larger, every third week newsletter is called On the Way. This week’s edition of our Two Minutes newsletter, however, has lots of travelling information. DO YOU HAVE TWO MINUTES ► to remember BYCC travel? ► to plan for NCYC in Indianapolis? ► to virtually attend NCCYM? ► to plan for training your youth in the new year? ► to journey into Advent?
ON THE ROAD WITH BYCC
This week’s Catholic Review has extensive coverage of BYCC. See that article on-line as it includes two extensive slide shows of the many events. You can find more pictures (especially parish / school group shot) here.
In the print edition (on page 18), there is a profile of the Harford Area Youth (HAY!) who collaborated on their efforts in getting to Ocean City. Colleen Sisolak from St. John the Evangelist in Hydes described such collaboration, “It’s incredible how we as a region have been able to bridge ministries.” Such collaborations are essential as we move towards the future of our church and ministry.
Finally, we are proud to share that while in Ocean City, the BYCC participants were mindful of those impacted by Superstorm Sandy. The Mass collection of $1500 was split between Catholic Relief Services for those impacted in the Caribbean and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York.
The Premier See hits the road again for the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis -November 21-23 next year.
ON THE ROAD WITH NCCYM
Many of the ArchBalt are in Orlando this weekend for the National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry. So is Margaret!
I stayed home this time around, but fully plan to watch the general sessions as they are live-streamed on the NCCYM website. Here are the times and speakers:
► Thursday, November 29, 7:30-10:00 pm EST—General Session featuring emcees Judy McDonald and Jesse Manibusan with keynote by ValLimar Jansen
► Friday, November 30, 8:30-10:15 am EST—General Session featuring Jack Jezreel
► Friday, November 30, 5:00-6:30 pm EST—Keynote featuring Monsignor Ray East followed by Liturgy with Fr. Miguel Gonzalez
► Saturday, December 1, 8:30-10:15 am EST—General Session featuring Sr. Anne Bryan Smollin
► Saturday, December 1, 7:30-10:00 pm EST—Closing Program with Bob McCarty and Liturgy featuring Bishop John Noonan followed by the Presentation of the National Youth Ministry Awards
ON THE JOURNEY OF FORMING YOUNG LEADERS
If, by any chance, you find December to be just a little bit lighter of youth ministry programming, you might find this a great time to recruit for Cornerstone on Feb. 16 or Micah 6:8 (flyer updated) on March 1-2.
