What Is School For?

Some of you may be wondering why I am posting anything about school and education. The reason is simple:

Some of our most important ministry leaders are teachers.

The Roman Catholic Church is well known for its education. Many Catholic churches have their own school attached to it. The Catholic church has certainly had an impact on the way we teach and school our students. This is a good thing!

At the same time, there are those that argue that we need to re-think how we do school. I agree.

In this video, which I first saw on the Catholic Youth Ministry blog, the well-known author Seth Godin asks the very important question: what is school for? Once we have an answer to that, it should change the way we do school.
