Last Wednesday, we ran a commencement speech by Conan O’Brien. Here we go again,
Besides being America’s dad, Bill Cosby is a great storyteller. You’ve got to love the timing, pacing, and (what I think most folks forget…) the chronological order of the story –no jumping ahead or recalling a detail after the fact. He is just masterful here. His story starts about five minutes in…
His point is that we should not letter anyone talk us out of being who we really are… and that the most likely suspect of such a crime is actually us! Be confident! Be prepared! (They go hand-in-hand.)
I don’t care what you do. When you are good, then you bring you out.
It’s not for you to stand around and measure yourself according to diplomas and degrees. You are you — and you are not to put yourself beneath anybody!
(h/t to Garr Reynolds for this week and last week.)

This really is true. Being confident in yourself and God is something that tends to be disregarded these days between the craziness of social media, reality tv and 101 other things to do a day.
