Marissa joined Thrive, our community of Catholic youth ministers, a few months after she started at her parish.

For Marissa, the most rewarding part of youth ministry, is seeing the growth in her teens...

"Getting to see those moments where they're deep in prayer, and they don't think anyone catches it, but you know that there's something different now than there was a few months ago or a few years ago. That's, I think, the best part."
In addition to being very active inside the Thrive community...

Marissa has been at every Thriveanooga since we started hosting them in 2021.

Thriveanooga is an in-person gathering of Catholic youth ministry leaders in Chattanooga, TN every Fall. It's an opportunity for intentional community, collaboration, and formation.

It's also the most fun week of the year.
In addition to being very active inside the Thrive community...

Marissa has been at every Thriveanooga since we started hosting them in 2021.

It's also the most fun week of the year.

Thriveanooga completely shifted the way Marissa does ministry...

"Everything that I do – it's all for this goal of raising saints. I  don't think I would've had that mindset or realized that eternal perspective without that question from Thriveanooga."

Since that shift in perspective, Marissa's ministry has been producing serious fruit.

It's even leading to a growth in devotion to the Eucharist and a deeper faith life for her teens...

"Without ProjectYM...I never would have thought that adoration is something that teens could enter into on such a regular basis. And I never would have seen the insane growth in the hearts and the faith lives of my teens that I've had the blessing to see."
Despite the incredible ways God is moving in the youth at her parish...

Marissa still faces the same struggles that most youth ministers wrestle with.

"It can feel a lot of times like there is no support, and like everyone always thinks you're doing everything wrong.  And  where Project YM comes in is the community of Thrive – that online community that is there to remind you that other people are walking that same walk with you."

We asked Marissa what her ministry would be like without ProjectYM...

"If Project YM didn't exist, Catholic youth ministry would be more disconnected and less innovative. And without Project YM, I know that my ministry would not be as fruitful as it is."

One final thought from Marissa...
